Times Infinity - A Day In the Life of A Mother

These words came to my mind one night as I was putting the kids to bed. It was so easy to write, it almost wrote itself. As much as it is a snapshot of my life, it is also a love letter to every mother out there. The LORD sees how much you love your children, my friend, and that love is only a fraction of how much He loves you. Your greatest calling - your children - are a testament to our Heavenly Father’s love for His people and the lost. Keep fighting, Sister.

You barely slept and got up anyway. You woke up hungry and fed them first. You needed water and vitamins and chose coffee and their leftover breakfast.

I see you.

You wanted a slow start, they wanted to play dragons and hide and seek. The house is a mess, you played instead. They asked a 100 questions, you question whether you're doing a good job.

You are.

They watch their favorite show as you fix their favorite lunch. It's nap time. One nurses to sleep, one rests her head against yours. Their favorite place. Yours too.

Now rest in Me.

You want to stay and snuggle, but feel compelled to get up. Resting isn't something you're used to.

You cook, you pick up, you sit on the couch and question the choices you've made in your life.

Trust in Me.

They're up. The marathon begins again. Tiny hands. Sweet voices. Always reaching, always curious, always seeking more. Learning more. They give more than they take.

Seek Me and find Me.

They giggle. They fight. They cry. More of the same. Always the same yet always new. Renewing the soul.

Let Me renew your strength.

Evening comes and with it brings dinner, a movie and maybe an evening walk. We kiss. We snuggle. We talk about the day.

Each day is a gift.

Oh, how they make the ordinary beautiful and lovely. In the darkness you listen to them breathe. You stroke their hair. You rub their backs and hold them close. Your most precious gifts.

You are precious to Me.

You wish you could relive these sweet moments. Freeze time and never see these days end. Instead you do your best to treasure them. The sweetest memories bottled in your heart forever. Lived out in you, my lovely babies.
